The Society was originally registered with Registrar Co-operative Societies, East Punjab on 29th August, 1949 with Registration No. 249 and present amendment registered with Registrar Co-operative Societies, Himachal Pradesh on 24th August, 1999.

The Society is governed by the Himachal Pradesh Co-operative Societies Rules, 1971 and Act, 1968 & Act No. 3 of 1969.

The Society has its own Bye-Laws that are amended from time to time as per requirement by the General House. The members of the Society convene a General House every year where they elect the Executive Body and make amendments if required and pass them by 2/3rd majority. The term of the Executive Body is 5 years.

The management practice is democratic and governed by above mentioned H.P. Co-operative Societies Rules & Acts.
